Before choosing your perfect pair of glasses, determine your face shape. Here's a simple guide:
Take a look in the mirror, and ask yourself three questions:
1. Identify the widest part of your face.
Your forehead, chin, or jaw?
2. What is the shape of your jaw? Rounded, square, or pointed?
Finally,
3. Do you have a long face or a shorter one?
Heart-shaped or triangular faces usually have a broad forehead, narrower jawline, high cheekbones, and a narrow chin.
Look for frames that will add width to the chin area.
Tips
• Wayfarer or cat-eye styles are great for balancing a triangular-shaped face
• Round frames in lighter colors soften a wide forehead
• Frames that are wider at the bottom than the top help offset the narrow chin
• Avoid frames that are decorative at the top or that are wider at the top than the bottom
A round-shaped face has a more prominent or larger, curved forehead, full cheeks, and a round chin.
Round-shaped faces should select angular frames to help sharpen and add definition.
Tips
• Angular frames with rectangular or geometric shapes create balance and definition.
• Rectangular frame styles create a slimmer-looking round face
• The smaller the height of the frame, the more thinner the round face tends to look.
• Glasses with high or mid-height temples help lengthen a round face.

Square Face Shape for Glasses
If You Have a Square-Shaped Face (you may have a longer face)
Square-shaped faces are usually proportional in length and width. A strong prominent jaw line with a square chin and a wide forehead are characteristic of this shape. Try round or oval glasses to soften and add contrast to the face.
Tips
• Round frames create curves and soften square or angular faces
• Cat-eye frames also add curves and contour square faces
• The soft curves of oval frames help minimize angles and lengthen a square face
• Subtle rimless frames with soft edges add contrast
If You Have an Oval-Shaped Face (Likely have a long face)
It's the easiest face shape to complement. An oval-shaped face has balanced proportions, a narrow forehead, and a chin of equal size, though the chin is a little narrower than the forehead. The proportions being balanced about any frame shape will complement this face shape.
