Frames for Low Bridges

Glasses Frames Perfect for Lower Bridges

Looking for long-lasting comfort?
Say "hello" to Low Bridge fit frames or low bridge glasses that are crafted for those with low nose bridges.

(if the bridge of your nose sits level with or below the pupils), wide faces, and/or high cheekbones.

What's special about Low Bridge Fit frames?

Comfort! That is important. When the frame fits well, you can wear your glasses all day long without feeling discomfort or heaviness,
touching your cheeks, or even pain. But when they are ill-fitting - when the nose bridge is too wide, or the nose pads are too small, or even the width of the frames are too wide or too narrow - there are many problems than can ensue. Sweating for example, can further exasperate the situation  - if the pads are two small the bottom rims of the frames will be touch/scraping/ lodging into the cheeks - and sweating can either burn the area (if the skin is broken due to constant rubbing from the frames) and cause further irritation. If the frame is too heavy for the low and smaller nose bridge this could cause pain on the nose, the cheeks or even behind the ears where the temples rest - and they could constantly be falling off and need constant “pushing up” to reposition to the right place.
All of this becomes a little bit more difficult to manage or tolerate if the prescription is progressive or bifocal as this constant falling or if the glasses sit very low on the tip of the nose - will make it harder to access the lower reading portion of the glasses correctly.

Eyewear Insight low bridge glasses

Larger nose pads are perfect for low bridges.

Nose pads should rest on the sides of the nose and not directly on the slope of the nose in between the eyes. We use larger nose pads to ensure the frame sits where it should for zero tension and zero slipping down the nose. The measurement indicating the width of the nose bridge would also be helpful in describing how the frames will fit on your nose. The smaller the nose bridge, the more narrow the bridge should be - the broader or lower the nose bridge is may feel better with a wider nose bridge. Please always measure your well fitting glasses as the standard before purchasing. I would say even if you are buying in person. ALWAYS have a reference point as to what fits you well and is comfortable.

A STRAIGHTER SLANT FOR LOW BRIDGES
Frames are more comfortable when they don’t rest right on the cheeks or move when you smile. Straighter and less slanted inwards give plenty of space for the cheekbones, as a smaller nose tends to bring the frames close to the cheeks.

Slightly curved temples
Eyewear Insight low bridge glasses temple curve
A subtle arch in the temples (the arms of the frame) makes for a wide temple-to-temple distance
and an ultra-roomy fit.
So long, pinching, sweaty, uncomfortable cheek-hitting frames!

Metal Frames with Adjustable Nose Pads

Using frames with adjustable nose pads makes it easy to adjust the spacing of the nose pads to either make them closer for a low bridge (or further apart for a higher nose bridge)

One of the best ways to figure out if the frame has large enough - or nose pads that are larger than other frames is to look at the ¾ view image so that you can take a good look at the size of the nose pads
